Why Stage? Why Rooms Reborn

Why Stage? Why Rooms Reborn

Have you ever wondered why some houses just scream, buy me?! Most likely, it’s due to staging! Staging is the process of decorating a home to appeal to visual and spatial senses, leaving a fabulous first impression.  The National Association of Realtors states that staging helps homes sell 3 to 30 times faster than non-staged competition and can increase the average sales price by 20%.  Pretty good numbers to influence the staging decision.  So, how’s it done?

The staging process is initiated most often by the listing agent but can also originate with the homeowner (Seller).  He or she will reach out for an initial consultation on what rooms they want staged.  Generally, it is a few key rooms, not every room.  The most popular being master bedrooms, home offices/libraries, kitchens, hearth rooms, living rooms and recreation spaces.  Our designers will take measurements to ensure spatiality and get a feel for the vibe of the home.  To prepare the home for staging, the realtor or Seller will want to adhere to the guidelines set by the designer at the initial consultation.  Some of the more common requests include, clearing rooms or objects that will not be used in the staging process, as well as possibly changing paint color and light fixtures.  Planning décor is the next step!  From lighting, rugs, objects and art...everything staged is planned to ensure an overall stunning effect.  Boho?  Minimalist?  Scandinavian?  Modern?  Classic? We have got it all!

If you are new to the staging world, one might think this process takes days and days.  You would be incorrect!  In just a few hours, completely changing a home’s appeal is possible.  Of course, preparing for it takes a bit longer on the homeowner’s part (disposing of or storing items that will not be a part of the overall plan, as well as painting, changing lighting and any other recommendations given), but the actual implementation can be done in a very short time.  Rooms Reborn has two warehouses bursting at the seams with all the current, up to date home trend styles in furniture, art, décor and lighting, as well as employing movers that are professional and efficient, and a host of designers, planners and installers.

Staging gives the Buyer vision and possibility.  Each item is selected to coordinate, complement and bring the plan to fruition through the various pieces and spaces.  Buyers want to see themselves living in the space and when it is staged properly, they can visualize how their belongings will fit, what style they want, where their memories will be made.  Essentially, it gives the client a feeling of ownership and attachment, which in turn causes an emotional connection and a willingness to pay top dollar, which is every agents’ dream.
